Zortrax M200 3D printer transforms virtual projects into three-dimensional reality. It is used to prototype and create various three-dimensional models. 3D printing can be utilized to prototype mechanical elements, structures, industrial molds and templates, objects of everyday use and promotional gadgets.

Preparing the Model

Work with the model can be initiated in any 3D program of choice which creates 3D graphics and supports .stl file format. The next step is to export the created CAD file to this format.

Z-Suite Software

Z-Suite® is an appliction which prepares 3D models for printing. It allows the actual parameters of the model to be adjusted, such as: size, layer thickness or generating reinforcement material (support). Z-Suite® prepares the model by generating a project and saving it in .zcode® format, which is then ready to be printed using the Zortrax M200® 3D printer.

Transferring Model

In order to export the model to the printer, it is sufficient enough to save the .zcode® file generated in Z-Suite® onto an SD card and insert it into the reader on the printer.

Uploading the Filament

The following step is to upload the filament Dedicated Z-Filament Series, such as Z-ABS® and Z-ULTRAT®, are available in several color options. New types of filaments with different physical qualities are coming soon.

Initiating the Printing Process

Initiating the Printing Process Printing is initiated after selecting a model from the SD card inserted into the reader. The printer menu and file catalog are brought up on the display which is operated by the control knob. After choosing a file and pushing the control knob in, the printing process begins.


Properly selected heating and cooling points in the extruder solve the common problem of inability to release material by the extruder. It can be caused by a change in the physical properties of material associated with temperature.

Build platform

Use of a two-part platform allows for its easy removal after the printing process is finished. Thanks to this feature, the model can be easily removed without causing any calibration issues. Perforations on the platform allow to print using materials based on ABS which have a tendency to warp. They prevent the model from peeling off during printing process. Additionally, an extra layer of raft is used as a special base for the object. This is very important for printing large models. The platform is heated to the correct temperature for each type of filament. Wide range of temperatures (from 20° C to 110° C) allow to print using many kinds of materials.


The printer is fitted with an innovative calibration system which makes sure that the platform is leveled correctly every time. There are calibrating points located on the platform itself which calculate its exact position. The system is able to determine on which level the calibrating points should be located. In the case of a slight tilt the extruder is able to adapt to the position of the platform while it’s putting on the first layers of the model.

X and Y axis system

A system of dual X and Y axises is used to lead the extruder with high precision. Stability and quality of printing is greatly improved through the use of 8 smooth rods.

Single Extruder Support

Ease of use thanks to Single Extruder Support system (SES) which allows to print support structure for complex models without the need of dual extruder and additional material. Support structure is easy to remove and efficient. The system is optimized to use only the exact amount of material needed to support the model.
